Submissions

The Connecticut Insurance Law Journal is a peer reviewed journal.  This means that manuscripts are subject to a review process by expert, outside referees who devote considerable time and effort to the review.  For this reason, we request that authors wishing to submit manuscripts for review to CILJ tender them as a sole submission (i.e., manuscripts are not being considered for publication from other journals at the same time).  However, recognizing the limitations this presents for authors accustomed to the multiple submission process of non-peer reviewed student law reviews, should an author wish to submit to the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal in conjunction with non-peer reviewed student law reviews, the author must so inform CILJ and agree to allow CILJ to have the right of first refusal in the event that one of the law reviews offers publication.

The manuscript consideration process takes four to six weeks.  Please submit manuscripts with this time frame in mind.

The Connecticut Insurance Law Journal prefers authors to electronically submit their article through either ExpressO or Scholastica (see link below).  However, CILJ also accepts hard copy submissions.
